Trying to make time for everything, but the moment disappears
Our vision eludes the blossoming, the twinkle, the laughter and smiles
As bubbles of unnoticed instances, lay stagnant in memories untold
Awakening of age finds us perplexed in the ravages of life
Precious moments lost in return of fool’s gold
So, this year I wish
Let us embrace our past with bittersweet memories
and yearn for what the future beholds …

Text: The world and it's affairs are totally false, know this well my friends. Says Nanak it is like a wall of sand, it shall not endure. All of us are wandering through our lives trying to build a fortress using particles of sand that remain in our clenched fists.Time seeps through our hands like tiny grains of sand and yet we fight the odds and build this fortress. Only to reach a state where time washes every impression of our existence. This is why Guru Nanak says our true wealth is the remembrance of God (Waheguru) There in lays tranquility, by distancing ourselves from the meandering affairs of the world and finding solace in the name of God (Waheguru)
Baba Bulleh Shah is a prominent Punjabi poet some of his poetries are part of Sri Guru Granth Sahib (Holy book of the Sikhs). I admire the simplicity of his words and his vision; every word feels so genuine and pure. He wrote these poems while yearning for the almighty but his poetries capture the true essence of love in the most pure forms.
I am a beginner in Punjabi, so please bear with me, as I understand the lyrics more I will update accordingly. Enjoy the poems and I hope as you read/listen… you feel the love :)
Following songs are sung by Wadali Brothers:
Charka: A woman longs for her lover, but she is afraid to display this emotion in public. She places her charka in her courtyard as she waits for her lover and weaves in the remembrance of her love. She weaves every thread in his memory; every sound the charka makes reminds her about the toomba (musical Instrument) that her lover plays. Her parents and in-laws keep telling her not to think of him so much, she keeps hallucinating that her lover has already returned as she wails, yearning for her lover. She seeks advice from her lover, that she is lost without him and wants to leave her house and dwell in the depths of his love.

Tu mane ya na mane dildara Tu mane ya na mane dildara
(Whether you like it or not my dear)
Asa ne tenu rab manaya (I have accepted You as my God)
Das hor keda rab da dwara (Tell me which other door shall i knock)
Asa ne tenu rab manaya
Koi kashi koi makke janda (Someone goes to kashi for pilgrimage someone goes to Mecca)
Koi kumbh vich ja dhakke khanda (Someone goes to Kumbh Mela to wash off their sins)
Paya jag te khule vich sara (I have found the world in Your Feet)
Tugh bin jeena bhi kya jeena (there is no life without you)
Teri chaukhat mera madina (At your doorstep i have found my temple)
Kahin aur na sajda gavara (I cannot bear to bow my head anywhere else)
Asane tenu rab manya Tu mane ya na mane
Haste haste har gam sehna (Smiling i will face all the trails and tribulations)
Raagi teri rada mein rehna (i want to live in Your shadow)
Tune mughko shikaya hai yara (You only have taught me my dear)
Asane tenu rab manya
The original song, sung by Wadali Brothers is simply awesome, more songs/poetry to follow ...

Today's serene-place: Love at first sight :) Call it destiny, serendipity or just fate, but sometimes a simple glance is magical. Some love stories have happy endings like this one, a guy see's a girl on the subway and falls for her. He's shy to talk to her but couldn't resist looking for her and started this website http://www.nygirlofmydreams.com/, and actually found her. http://abcnews.go.com/Technology/story?id=3828525&page=1 and listen to him here http://vimeo.com/373021...
I hope things work out for him god bless...

Today’s serene-place: Friends
Friends are such an integral part of our lives; life would be incomplete without them. Friends teach us to be ourselves and help us cast our inhibitions away, they help us grow and appreciate life. Well, sometimes they are simply there to aid in our stupidity, but then again what good is life without laughter. Laughing with friends is like getting snow on Christmas, so that there's someone to help you clear the driveway -- maybe after a snowball fight or sledging down the hill :) There in lies tranquility to be surrounded by friends who know you are a bit crazy but they still love you anyway...
Shoutout to all my peeps!! respect

I had to post this video from Scrubs; it's just way to funny to leave out...

Today’s serene-place: Hope
Hope and faith a two ingredients that give us the power to achieve and succeed. Everything happens for a reason and if you read between the lines God has something good planned for us. The whole universe is built on an intricate fragile balance, so if there is despair there is hope. Our tranquility lies in the hope that someone is watching over us and has only good intentions in his mind.
Following is a poem I wrote last year to capture the naive nature of my mind, imagining what I could do if I was super powerful and then realizing why things are the way they are. Whenever I am down, I read this poem to find hope and inspiration.
Hope If I had the power to stop the storms silence the thunders and restore the calms
Freeze the lakes in summer keep the green in fall Life would just stand there with no meaning at all
Pleasure would be pain if everything were the same Tears would feel like joy success would mean losing a game
Happiness means nothing without the touch of sorrow If adversity were to vanish there wouldn't be hope for tomorrow
Like rain turns to frost and green to gray Change is the law of nature for nothing is here to stay
If I can endure this moment and overcome my fears For sure as night eclipses the day my morning is bound to appear
