Today’s serene-place: Friends
Friends are such an integral part of our lives; life would be incomplete without them. Friends teach us to be ourselves and help us cast our inhibitions away, they help us grow and appreciate life. Well, sometimes they are simply there to aid in our stupidity, but then again what good is life without laughter. Laughing with friends is like getting snow on Christmas, so that there's someone to help you clear the driveway -- maybe after a snowball fight or sledging down the hill :) There in lies tranquility to be surrounded by friends who know you are a bit crazy but they still love you anyway...
Shoutout to all my peeps!! respect
~ Poorest person is one who has no friends...
I had to post this video from Scrubs; it's just way to funny to leave out...

Today’s serene-place: Hope
Hope and faith a two ingredients that give us the power to achieve and succeed. Everything happens for a reason and if you read between the lines God has something good planned for us. The whole universe is built on an intricate fragile balance, so if there is despair there is hope. Our tranquility lies in the hope that someone is watching over us and has only good intentions in his mind.
Following is a poem I wrote last year to capture the naive nature of my mind, imagining what I could do if I was super powerful and then realizing why things are the way they are. Whenever I am down, I read this poem to find hope and inspiration.
Hope
If I had the power
to stop the storms
silence the thunders
and restore the calms
Freeze the lakes in summer
keep the green in fall
Life would just stand there
with no meaning at all
Pleasure would be pain
if everything were the same
Tears would feel like joy
success would mean losing a game
Happiness means nothing
without the touch of sorrow
If adversity were to vanish
there wouldn't be hope for tomorrow
Like rain turns to frost
and green to gray
Change is the law of nature
for nothing is here to stay
If I can endure this moment
and overcome my fears
For sure as night eclipses the day
my morning is bound to appear

Today’s serene-place:God
Time is pulling us with our collar through the roads of life, as we helplessly try to slow down the pace. We gather possessions to distract ourselves from the eternal end and forget the Supreme Being. Everything is worthless except the true remembrance of God, his faith gives us the ability to endure time and meet death with open arms. Everything is but a dream, sculptures made of fog -- remembrance of God gives us the vision to be one with God, before everything disappears. There is nothing and there will be nothing except the remembrance of God, there in lies tranquility as one remembers the lord.
Sri Guru Granth Sahibji says the following in salok mehlaa 9.

Sri Guru Granth Sahibji says the following in salok mehlaa 9.
sir kampi-o pag dagmagay nain jot tay heen.
The head shakes, the feet stagger, and the eyes become dull and weak.
kaho naanak ih biDh bha-ee ta-oo na har ras leen. ||47||
Says Nanak, this is your condition. And even now, you have not savored the sublime essence of the Lord. ||47||
nij kar daykhi-o jagat mai ko kaahoo ko naahi.
I had looked upon the world as my own, but no one belongs to anyone else.
naanak thir har bhagat hai tih raakho man maahi. ||48||
O Nanak, only devotional worship of the Lord is permanent; enshrine this in your mind. ||48||
jag rachnaa sabh jhooth hai jaan layho ray meet.
The world and its affairs are totally false; know this well, my friend.
kahi naanak thir naa rahai ji-o baaloo kee bheet. ||49||
Says Nanak, it is like a wall of sand; it shall not endure. ||49||
raam ga-i-o raavan ga-i-o jaa ka-o baho parvaar.
Raam Chand passed away, as did Raawan, even though he had lots of relatives.
kaho naanak thir kachh nahee supnay ji-o sansaar. ||50||
Says Nanak, nothing lasts forever; the world is like a dream. ||50||
chintaa taa kee keejee-ai jo anhonee ho-ay.
People become anxious, when something unexpected happens.
ih maarag sansaar ko naanak thir nahee ko-ay. ||51||
This is the way of the world, O Nanak; nothing is stable or permanent. ||51||
jo upji-o so binas hai paro aaj kai kaal.
Whatever has been created shall be destroyed; everyone shall perish, today or tomorrow.
naanak har gun gaa-ay lay chhaad sagal janjaal. ||52||
O Nanak, sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord, and give up all other entanglements. ||52||

Today’s serene-place: Love
The important thing was to love rather than to be loved ~W. Somerset Maugham
Little Manhattan
Another puppy love based childhood love story, it highlights the bittersweet stages of love. One-sided love is painful beyond imagination; our eyes bleed the innocent nectar of love and we bathe in the tranquility of our memories. The unique thing about this story is that even though it leads towards heartbreak it gives us a vision of hope…(singing) and love grows where my rosemary goes and nobody knows like me …
